Update #2 - Where I get invited to join an Artist Collective and have to build a website

This is where I share what I’ve been up to behind the scenes to move my art career forward - the good, the bad, and the as-yet-to-be-determined.

What an incredible week! I had no idea that everything would start coming together so quickly but I have a fire under me now. The universe is definitely meeting me halfway on this new endeavour!!

This week’s Rose, Bud, & Thorn

The Rose is something that went well, the Thorn is something that didn’t go so well or is challenging, and the Bud is something that is still percolating…

ROSE

OMG I was not expecting this AT ALL, but I went to meet the woman who runs the Art Collective, and she only invited me to bloody join them! They only have 12 members at a time and apparently someone had recently left so there was a space that had just opened up. She had a look at my work and loved it and thought that I would be a great addition to the group! Eeeep! Talk about feeling validated, and like I’m on the right track.

Being a part of the Collective is going to open me up to so many incredible opportunities that I wouldn’t be able to access on my own, plus the woman who runs it is an absolute powerhouse and I cannot wait to work with her. I am fully happy-dance twirling over here.

BUD

Well, now I really have to get my arse in gear and get my online presence sorted out. So, my major Bud this week is putting my website together. I have some bare bones in place from when I started thinking about being an artist in public again last year so I’ve started writing copy and I really need to get some decent photos of my work.

THORN

Photos. I am a horrible photographer - I’ve never been able to wrap my head around it. Fortunately my brilliant husband is great at it and has a fancy camera, but finding a day where he’s available and the light is right and the stars align in just the right way. Well, let’s just say it’s going to be tricky.
