Collection: Tussie Mussie

A tussie mussie isn't just a delightful jumble of nonsense syllables - in Victorian times, these tiny posies were used to send secret messages through the language of flowers. Sweet peas whispered 'gratitude', zinnias promised 'everlasting friendship', and different combinations could tell whole stories without a single word...

As an autistic person who sometimes struggles to express emotions, I use flowers in my paintings as my secret messengers, conveying feelings that are beyond my verbal reach. Unlike their Victorian cousins though, my blooms are wild and untethered, exploding across the canvas in glorious riots of colour. Each painting has a message - perhaps it's meant for you?

How do my flowers make you feel?
